Do you have a passion for Healthy Living? Looking for a job that encompasses your knowledge and background? Look no further! The Suffolk Family YMCA is currently hiring evening Fitness Coaches.

A Bachelors degree in fitness related fields, are preferred. Although, college courses related to anatomy and physiology or related experience is excepted. A high school diploma is required. Must have knowledge of weight room equipment, cardiovascular equipment, and general strength training principals. YMCA certifications to include: (within 6 months of hire) Principles of Health & Fitness, YMCA Strength Training Instructor and YMCA FitQuest Coaches training certification. Nationally recognized certifications are excepted, i.e. ACE, AFFA, ACSM. CPR is also required.

-FitQuest coaches conduct one on one appointments with YMCA members to orient them to the fitness equipment and the FitQuest system
-Educate YMCA members on exercise principals and other fitness related areas.
-Supervise YMCA members workouts by working the floor and giving constructive feedback for maximum fitness gains.
-Provide continuous feedback and guidance to YMCA members.
-Encourage YMCA members to meet their own determined fitness goals and to continue with their program.
-Contact YMCA members through personal phone calls, post cards and by leaving messages on the kiosk.
-Resolve any and all issues or conflicts YMCA members may be experiencing.
-After initial visit it is imperative that a message is left for the FitQuest participant.
-Maintain the FitQuest Center for cleanliness, i.e. dusting, vacuum, etc.
-Follow all YMCA policies and procedures.
