School-Age Child Care at Albemarle Family YMCA in North Carolina

With a focus on safety, health, social growth and academic enhancement, our before- and after-school programs serve school-age youth with options to explore and develop their interests and talents. The Y provides a quality, safe place for children to go so that parents have the freedom to work or study, knowing that their children's needs are being addressed. Our flexible schedule allows each child to freely choose what he or she wants to do during this out-of-school time.

NEW FOR 2017: School’s Out Camp is included in child care registration at no additional cost. (*excludes winter and spring break)

You can feel confident knowing that your child is safe and well cared for by highly qualified, CPR and First Aid-certified, staff. In addition, our staff also attend 12 hours of training before working with your child; these trainings include Licensing, Child Development, Child Abuse Prevention and Programming. They are also required to participate in at least 16 hours of training throughout the school year.

Transportation to the Y is provided from the following schools in Elizabeth City:

  • Camden Intermediate
  • Central Elementary
  • Grandy Primary
  • J.C. Sawyer Elementary
  • Northside Elementary
  • Pasquotank Elementary
  • P.W. Moore Elementary
  • Sheep Harney Elementary
  • Weeksville Elementary

On-site After-School programming is also available at the following Perquimans County Schools:

  • Perquimans Central
  • Hertford Grammar


Registration/materials fee: $50 (one-time)
Before-School Care: $50/member; $75/regular rate
After-School Care: $65/member; $90/regular rate
Before- & After-School Care: $85/member; $115/regular rate
