Paul Charles Harris YMCA Camp Silver Beach Memorial Fund
Although Paul’s life was tragically cut short at the young age of 18, a miracle continues to take place daily as the Paul Charles Harris YMCA Camp Silver Beach Memorial Scholarship Fund grows.  These funds are invested with the YMCA of South Hampton Roads endowment in a designated fund, in honor of Paul, with the sole purpose of providing financial assistance for children to attend YMCA Camp Silver Beach on the Eastern Shore of Virginia, just as Paul once did.

The Harris Family writes: “Paul loved camp.  Our memories include those of his camp adventures at Camp Silver Beach: climbing the tower, sailing, fishing, playing soccer, skiing, kayaking, enjoying camp fires, swimming, games, and loving his friends new and old.  Paul completed his Eagle Scout project at Camp Silver Beach building a gateway, benches and trash containers on the pathway to the Blocker Environmental Center.  It is amazing to think about the children or teens who will be able to experience Camp Silver Beach in memory of Paul.  Over the years, selected children will have the opportunity to learn a little about Paul and the generosity of friends and family who contribute to the endowment fund in his memory.  We thank all those who remembered Paul in this extraordinary manner.”
