Although Activate America focuses on helping Americans live a healthier lifestyle all year long, the signature event America On the Move is held in September and encourages people to walk 1,000 more steps each day reduce caloric intake by 100 calories daily.

McDonalds supports the YMCA in it's efforts to promote a healthier lifestyle among all Americans. With research indicating that only 40% of Americans lead an active lifestyle, McDonalds is excited to take part in the advancement of healthy living through its partnership with the YMCA, by helping educate and model healthier lifestyle choices, including better eating habits.

It’s no secret – America has a serious weight problem. Even more troubling, youth obesity is on the rise making this generation the first whose life expectancy will be lower than their parents’. That’s why Coca-Cola is joining with the YMCA to fight this alarming trend. A recent year-long grant will be used to sponsor Youth Sports at the YMCA and continue making Coke’s Vitamin Water, Coke Zero and Dasani bottled water products available to kids who are participating in YMCA events and programs.
