The Effingham Street Family YMCA operates state-licensed child care at sites in the Portsmouth Public School system for children ages 4 1/2-13. Activities include homework assistance, KidzLit reading program, recreational sports, games, math and science, arts and crafts and more!

YMCA staff is CPR and First Aid certified. In addition, YMCA Child Care staff also attend 12 hours of training before working with your child; these trainings include Licensing, Child Development, Child Abuse Prevention and Programming. They are also required to participate in at least 16 hours of training throughout the school year.

Registration Fee: $25 for each child
Registration Packets must include birth certificate, current physical and immunization records.

Weekly Rate:
Before School only: $40
After School only: $50
Before & After School: $60
(10% sibling discount for each additonal child)
We accept Social Services, Planning Council and YMCA Financial Aid.

Time: Before School care is from 6:30 - 9 a.m.
After-School care begins at school release and runs until 6 p.m.
