Older Adults
The YMCA Older Adults programs are designed to enrich the lives of people who are in their middle and older years by helping them develop skills to meet life's challenges. Older adults can stay active and healthy by participating in both physical and social activities. At the YMCA, older adults have a place to go to improve their fitness levels, explore new interests and make new friends!

Adult Basketball

Aquafit

  A challenging aerobic water workout. Use of aquasteps, noodles and rubber bands that enhance conditioning and toning throughout the excercise class. You do not have to be able to swim to benefit from this class.

  A popular class to challenge the upper and lower body while conditioning and toning at the same time. Need to be comfortable in deep water while wearing a float belt.

Aquatic Arthritis
Days: Mon, Wed, Fri
Time: 10:00 am - 11:00 am
  This class is taught using Arthritis Foundations guidelines. The water's natural buoyancy and continuous resistance improves joint flexibility and muscle strength. This class is low impact and is held in the shallow end of the pool.
Combo- Shallow water
Days: Wed
Time: 5:30 pm - 6:20 pm
  A combination water aerobics class in the shallow and deep end of the pool. Challenge your upper and lower body while conditioning and toning at the same time. Use aquasteps, noodles, and rubber bands. Need to be comfortable in the deep water while wearing a float belt.
Combo-Deep and Shallow Water

Time: 11:30 am - 12:30 pm

Finning
Days: Tues, Thurs
Time: 10:15 am - 11:00 am
  This class will use the full length of the pool in a fantastic workout to burn calories and tone muscles. Fins create resistance against the water so more load is put on the major muscles of the leg which increases the heart rate and burns more calories. You will need to be comfortable in the deep water.
Get up & Move
Days: Tues
Time: 10:00 am - 11:00 am
  This active class will get you out of the chair and moving your feet. Slow controlled low impact aerobic movements along with strength buidling excercises. Chair options will be shown.
Interactive Zone

  New interactive equipment offers members an exhilarating, full-body workout while playing video games! More than just a computer that makes you sweat, the equipment offers something for everyone from simulated interaction training for athletes, to keeping youth and teens active and excited about fitness, to mental and physical coordination excercises for older adults and rehabilitation patients.

  At least one lap lane is available the entire time the YMCA is open. Members may need to share this lane. Best times for lap swim are Monday-Friday from 6am-8am and from 12pm-4:30pm.

Open Swim
Days: Mon, Wed, Fri
Time: 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
  Time at the pool for individuals and families for open swim or excercise swim. Lifeguards will check the swimming ability of each child in the pool. Children 9 and under need to be accompanied by an adult in the pool at all times. Children 10 and up may come to the pool by themselves as long as an adult is in the buidling with them. The Dolphin Slide is available on Friday night from 7:30-9pm, Saturday from 1pm-4pm, and Sunday from 1pm-4pm.
