The Mt. Trashmore Family YMCA recognizes the importance of creating a positive, safe environment for teens in the community. Each teen program or activity is focused on developing the spirit, mind and body; stimulating creativity; offering challenges; building developmental assets; and of course, fun! Teen opportunities include:

Interactive Zone: An investment of $375,000 in new interactive equipment is sure to offer YMCA members an exhilarating, full-body workout while playing video games! More than just a computer that makes you sweat, the equipment offers something for everyone from simulated interaction training for athletes, to keeping youth and teens active and excited about fitness, to mental and physical coordination exercises for older adults and rehabilitation patients.
TeenQuest: Part of the FitQuest program, TeenQuest is designed specifically with teen fitness needs in mind. Our trained FitQuest Coaches will teach, guide, motivate you and give you the personal attention needed to successfully reach your fitness goals. Sign up for FitQuest at the Member Services desk.

Ai Chi, Tues/Thurs, 8:30 am
Days: Tues, Thurs Time: 8:30 am - 9:00 am Dates: 1/1/08-12/31/08		A 30-minute class similar to Tai Chi, in chest deep water, Low intensity workout using a combination of deep breathing and slow broad movements. All fitness levels welcome. Ages 9-12 with a parent. Free for YMCA members.

Birthday Parties for All Ages
Days: Sat, Sun Time: 12:00 pm - 5:00 am		*Birthday Splash Parties* Have your birthday party at the YMCA and enjoy our giant whale slide in our indoor pool. Party is limited to 20 children (or adults with youthful attitudes) with 1 hour in the pool and 1 hour in a party room. Decorations, cake and snacks may be brought in. *Birthday Interactive Zone Parties* An Interactive Zone coach will lead your party with interactive challenges and competitions on our video-based cardio equipment. "Play with Purpose" is the concept of this unique birthday party theme. Contact our Family Programs Director for more information or to schedule parties.

Interactive Zone - Monday through Sunday
Days: All Time: 3:00 pm - 9:00 pm		(Ages 8 and up, 5-7 with a parent) Our new Youth Interactive Zone equipment features video game-based cardiovascular equipment and a youth weight training line. We offer kids their own exhilarating, workout while playing video games! Receive a KidQuest or TeenQuest orientation with a trained fitness professional. Zone coaches will orient and coach youth 8-18 on developing healthy habits to help combat obesity and future health issues. Earn prizes when you register for the Interactive Zone Challenge. REQUIREMENTS: Ages 6-18 years. Children 6 and 7 years old must be accompanied by an adult. Children 8-12 must be signed in by a parent and parent must remain present in the facility. Children 13+ must obey teen center rules. Monday - Friday 3:00 pm - 9:00 pm Saturday 10:00 am - 5:00 pm Sunday 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm * Closed on same days as branch closings.

Swim Stroke Clinic, Mon - Thurs 6 pm
Days: Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs Time: 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm Dates: 12/15/08-12/18/08		Designed to improve stroke technique and endurance. For children school age and above. Swimmers will work on a specific stroke each day with a review on the last day. Strokes include freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke and sidestroke. This is the perfect introduction to the Sonic Booms Swim Team! Must have parental consent if under the age of 18 and must sign participant waiver if not a member. Must be at least 6 years old. Registration Required. Members: 12/1/08-12/16/08. Non-Members: 12/1/08-12/16/08. Register Online.

Days: Sat, Sun Time: 10:00 am - 11:00 am Dates: 12/13/08-12/21/08		Designed to improve stroke technique and endurance. For children school age and above. Swimmers will work on a specific stroke each day with a review on the last day. Strokes include freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke and sidestroke. This is the perfect introduction to the Sonic Booms Swim Team! Must have parental consent if under the age of 18 and must sign participant waiver if not a member. Must be at least 6 years old. Registration Required. Members: 10/17/08-12/14/08. Non-Members: 10/17/08-12/14/08. Register Online.

Days: Weekdays Time: 5:30 pm - 9:00 pm		The YMCA-GEICO Teen Center provides a GameZone, a great sound system, computer lab for homework, movie theater, and Interactive Zone of interactive fitness equipment, just for teens to hang out with their friends! With special events like Middle School Madness, you can swim, dance and have fun, or come to the movies at the teen center's 30-person surround sound theater during all night parties. Foosball, air hockey and pool tables as well as X-Box 360, GameCube, Nintendo Wii, and PS3 are available if you just feel like hanging out. Not enough? Ask the Teen Counselors - they are here to keep the activities fresh and JUST FOR TEENS. And no more hassles from mom or dad, parents can feel comfortable leaving teens in the safe environment of the YMCA. Teen Center Membership - Ages 12-18 FREE Members $ 75/year Potential Members Use of Interactive Zone and Teen Center included in Teen Center Membership.
