Sports
Sports are at the heart of all YMCAs. Did you know that basketball and volleyball were both invented at the Y, while
softball and racquetball got their beginnings there as well? The YMCA encourages family involvement in hope that
everyone can enjoy the YMCA experience. Under the leadership of caring and dedicated staff and volunteers,
participants learn the true meaning behind sports, including the skills for the specific activity; why teamwork is
critical in life; how to be respectful of coaches, officials and teammates; and understanding that having fun and
making friends are what sports are all about.

| Camp Red Feather |

Real Summer Camp! Real Summer Fun!
Camp Red Feather Day Camp is a traditional day camp environment featuring a safe, outdoor environment with trained and qualified counselors.
Located on 50 acres of fields & forests on the campus of Virginia Wesleyan College, Camp Red Feather activities include: daily swim lessons, boating & canoing, fishing, archery, music, drama, sports, field games, daily devotions, character development, theme weeks, nature exploration, arts & crafts, family nights and special events.
Convenient drop off and pick up at Virginia Wesleyan College or the Norfolk Family YMCA. Transportation provided from the Norfolk Family YMCA to Virginia Weslyan College included.
Registration Fee: $50 (One time fee for summer)
Deposits: $25 per two week session per child

Whether you want to lose weight, become stronger, build muscle mass, increase endurance, rehabilitate, improve flexibility, sport specific train or just get in shape the Blocker Norfolk Family YMCA offers certified trainers who will design programs that will help you reach your goals.
Each trainer will not only coach you but will become partner in wellness. Programs can be designed to include cardiovascular workouts, weight training, stretching, water exercise, pilates, yoga postures, and sport specific exercises.
Personal Training Packages:
One-on-One Package (minimum of 3 sessions):
$25 for 30 minutes
$45 for 60 minutes
