The YMCA brings parents and children together for life enriching experiences. We believe the YMCA can help in strengthening relationships in families by providing fun and meaningful programs and activities. Time together as a family is valuable; the YMCA provides quality physical and social programs and activities, designed specifically for families. Family programs available at the Outer Banks Family YMCA include:

  • Stay & Play: Planned activities keep children 6 weeks to 8 years entertained while parents enjoy a stress free workout. Complimentary with family membership.
  • Parents' Night Out: Why not let the kids enjoy a night out too? Feel confident knowing your children are happy and healthy while enjoying an array of activities with their peers. Parents' Night Out is held the first and third Friday of each month.
  • Interactive Zone: Youth can play video games with friends while being engaged in physical activity on bikes. Families can race one another, pedaling side by side, while following a visual of their course. Or, check out the Xerdance, which provides the perfect platform for individuals or groups to perform dance steps in unison with the onscreen instruction
  • Birthday Parties: Plan your parties with us! We will provide a party attendant, party room, 2 additional spaces, with 2 pizzas and drinks for 15 children.

Adult Tae Kwon Do
Days: Tues, Thurs
Time: 12:00 am - 12:00 am
  Ages 16 and older can enjoy Tae Kwon Do, a form of exercise designed to motivate the spirit, mind and body. Learn the basics in TKD (Tae Kwon Do), self defense and technique. Each class will build upon beginners with belt ranking. Sessions run monthly for Youth classes and Teen/Adult Classes. All classes will be held on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s.

Yoga (Kids)
Days: Wed
Time: 3:15 pm - 4:00 pm
  Yoga is good for every body, including children. As they move, they are developing flexibility, strength, coordination and balance—for ages 7-12.
