With lap lanes, open swim times, water exercise classes, swim lessons, swim teams, water slides and playgrounds, the YMCA is well equipped to provide an enjoyable outlet of aquatic fun and fitness for the entire family. Our highly trained aquatic associates are nationally certified, holding certifications in CPR, AED, O2 Administration and Lifeguarding.

Aquatics programs at the Suffolk Family YMCA include:

  • Lap Swim: Lanes are set aside for members to lap swim for exercise. Kickboards and pull buoys are available for use and our trained staff will assist you with lane placement and swimming tips. There are lap times scheduled, also there will be a minimum of one lap lane available at all times.

  Aqua Zumba fuses hypnotic Latin rhytms and easy to follow moves to create a dynamic workout.
Aqualite

Time: 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
  Aqualite emphasizes good body mechanics, keeping joints in a stable and functional position and reducing the effort required to do activities by employing floatation devices and very lightweight equipment. This is a great class for members with mobility issues.
Aquapower

Time: 7:15 pm - 8:15 pm
  Exercise without wear and tear on your body using the natural resistance of the water. This an enjoyable way to get or stay in shape. Swimming skills are not necessary to share in the benefits of flexibility, muscular toning and cardiovascular fitness.

*This class is also offered in the mornings Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 8-9am.
Aquapower
