Saturday, September 4th, 2010 Parents' Night Out 6 - 9:30 pm
Parents' Night Out is offered at Taylor Bend Family YMCA on the 1st and 2nd Saturday each month. This free program for members allows parents to enjoy a night out while their children 1-12 years old have fun at YMCA supervised activities! Children enjoy an evening of age-appropriate activities including games, crafts, sports, movies and more!
Please visit our Family page for more information or to register. Registration begins at 5 am on the Monday prior to the program. Registrations are accepted online or at the Member Services desk. Members may participate in one Parents' Night Out session per month.
Thursday, September 9th, 2010 Y-Change I ~ New Thursday AM session begins Thursdays at 10 am
An experienced, committed and motivated Y-Change Coach will lead you through a 6-week journey toward a healthier lifestyle. Each week you will meet with your coach in a small group setting for a support and educational session, as well as meet two additional times to workout. You will also keep a journal which includes a food and activity log. The Y-Change program will give you the confidence and knowledge necessary to implement small steps to positively change your lifestyle.

Friday, September 17th, 2010 Beginner Youth Karate - New 4-week session begins Fridays, 7:15 - 8:45 pm
Open to youth 6-1/2 to 15 years old.
In our Youth Karate classes, students build confidence and become fit while learning the basic martial art fundamentals of blocking, kicking, punching and proper stances. Students also prepare for testing by performing moving patterns and sparring/self-defense techniques. Students are then promoted to each rank level after the appropriate testing. Emphasis in these classes is place on respect, discipline of character and "defense for self-defense only" as a common theme.

Saturday, September 18th, 2010 Intermediate Youth Karate - New 4-week session begins Saturdays, 11:45 am - 1:15 pm
Open to youth 6-1/2 to 15 years old
In our Intermediate Youth Karate class, students continue to work on the fundamentals learned in our Beginner Youth Karate classes while also advancing their skills in the discipline. Emphasis in these classes is place on respect, discipline of character and "defense for self-defense only" as a common theme. Only those students who have successfully completed our Beginner Youth Karate class and received instructor permission may register for the Intermediate level class.
