With lap lanes, open swim times, water exercise classes and swim lessons in a 25-meter, 6-lane, indoor heated pool, the YMCA is well equipped to provide an enjoyable outlet of aquatic fun and fitness for the entire family. Our highly trained aquatic associates are nationally certified, holding certifications in CPR, AED, O2 Administration and Lifeguarding.

Adapted Aquatics
Days: Mon, Wed, Fri
Time: 10:00 am - 11:00 am
  This 1-hour class, held in the indoor pool, is appropriate for those who suffer from arthritis, fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis or are recovering from a joint injury or surgery. The main goals are to strengthen muscles, improve joint flexibility and range of motion.

Swimming skills are not required for participation. Flotation belts are provided if needed. One-piece swimsuits and aqua shoes are highly recommended.
Aqua Blast
Days: Tues
Time: 9:00 am - 10:00 am
  This 1-hour class incorporates aqua aerobics for those participants who want more intensity! Instructor may work out in deep or shallow water using suspended or power moves. This class is designed for those wanting a challenge but is appropriate for all fitness levels.

Swimming skills are not required for participation. Flotation belts are provided if needed. One-piece swimsuits and aqua shoes are highly recommended.

This class is offered in our indoor pool every Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. (Youth 8-12 years old may attend this class with a parent or supervising guardian.)
Aqua Tai Chi
Days: Tues, Thurs
Time: 10:00 am - 11:00 am
  This 1-hour class incorporates instruction and performance of specific moves and conditioning exercises geared to improve one's ability to breathe, focus the mind, improve strength, flexibility, balance and coordination during movement. Aqua Tai Chi is a combination of the principles of water fitness and the graceful flowing movements of Tai Chi.

Swimming skills are not required for participation. Flotation belts are provided if needed. One-piece swimsuits and aqua shoes are highly recommended.

This class is offered in our indoor pool every Tuesday and Thursday at 10:00 a.m. (Youth 8-12 years old may attend this class with a parent or supervising guardian.)
Aqua Volleyball
Days: Mon, Wed
Time: 9:00 am - 10:00 am
  Join us for a fun and active game of Aqua Volleyball! An ideal class for those looking for a great workout while having fun! This participant-led class uses a beach ball and net in the shallow end of the pool.

Swimming skills are not required for participation. Flotation belts are provided if needed. One-piece swimsuits and aqua shoes are highly recommended.

Offered every Monday and on the 1st, 3rd & 5th Wednesday at 9:00 am. (Youth 8-12 years old may attend this class with a parent or supervising guardian.)
Birthday Swim Parties
Days: Sat, Sun
Time: 1:00 pm - 4:30 pm
  Celebrate your child's birthday at the YMCA! Includes 1.5 hours in the indoor pool and 1 hour in the party room. Lifeguard on duty, maximum 15 people. Parties may be scheduled on Saturday or Sunday afternoons, 1:00-3:30 p.m. or 2:00-4:30 p.m.

Open Swim (Indoor Pool)

  Open Swim is available at various times throughout the week. Please see the Indoor Pool Schedule on Taylor Bend's Aquatics page for exact days and times.

Children must be 13 years old to use the pool unaccompanied by an adult. Children ages 10-12 must pass a swim test to be allowed to swim unaccompanied in pool area, although a parent must remain in the facility. Please obey lifeguards at all times! (Storm Advisory: The pool will be closed during all electrical storms, so please call ahead during times of inclement weather.)
Open Swim (Outdoor Pool)
Days: All
Time: 10:30 am - 7:30 pm
  Open Swim is available at our outdoor pool during all operating hours. Please see the Outdoor Pool Schedule on Taylor Bend's Aquatics page for exact days and times.

Children must be 13 years old to use the outdoor pool unaccompanied by an adult. Children ages 10-12 are allowed to swim unaccompanied in the outdoor pool, although a parent must check them in and remain on the premises at all times. ADULT SWIM TAKES PLACE AT THE TOP OF EACH HOUR FOR 10 MINUTES, 12-6 p.m. DAILY. Please obey lifeguards at all times!

Storm Advisory: The pool will be closed during all electrical storms, so please call ahead during times of inclement weather.

  SHRIMP/KIPPERS/INIA- For children ages 6 to 18 months. Children participate with a parent; focus is on orientation and adjustment.

PERCH- For children ages 19 to 36 months who can run and jump. Children participate with a parent; focus is on orientation and adjustment.

  PIKE - For beginners ages 3 to 5, who are moving toward independence in the water.

EELS - For advanced-beginners ages 3 to 5, who participate without a parent. Children must have completed the Pike level.

RAY/STARFISH - For advanced swimmers ages 3 to 5, who have completed the Eels level.

Swim Lessons - School-Age
Days: Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs, Sat
Time: 9:00 am - 7:00 pm
Dates: 1/7/08-1/10/09
  POLLIWOGS - For non-swimmers or those unable to swim 20 feet. Students are introduced to pool rules, front/back float, front/back/side paddle and finning/sculling.

GUPPIES - For those who have completed Polliwogs or those able to swim 20 feet. Students learn safety swim, treading skills, bobbing, strokes and wetball.
MINNOW - For those who have completed Guppies or are advanced beginners able to swim 50 feet with rotary breathing, survival float for one minute, and jump in deep water and recover.

FISH - For children who are good swimmers; skin diving, basic stroke refining, wetball, standing dive, swimming with mask and fins are emphasized.

FLYING FISH/SHARK - For children who are advanced swimmers and are able to swim 75 feet in front crawl, back crawl and breast stroke. These swimmers learn personal goal setting, bilateral breathing, snorkeling and flip turns.

  This 1-hour class held in our indoor pool is ideal for those desiring no impact or who are rehabilitating an injury, although an excellent cardiovascular workout is guaranteed. Using bouyancy belts, participants execute various movements while suspended to improve cardiovascular fitness as well as muscular strength.

Swimming skills are not required for participation. Flotation belts are provided if needed. One-piece swimsuits and aqua shoes are highly recommended.

Class is held on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Fridays of each month at 9:00 a.m. (Youth 8-12 years old may participate in this class with a parent or supervising guardian.)
