Teens
The Taylor Bend Family YMCA recognizes the importance of creating a positive, safe environment for teens in the community.
Each teen program or activity is focused on developing the spirit, mind and body; stimulating creativity; offering
challenges; building developmental assets; and of course, fun! Teen opportunities include:
- Interactive Zone: An investment of $375,000 in new interactive equipment is sure to offer YMCA members an exhilarating, full-body workout while playing video games! More than just a computer that makes you sweat, the equipment offers something for everyone from simulated interaction training for athletes, to keeping youth and teens active and excited about fitness, to mental and physical coordination exercises for older adults and rehabilitation patients.
- Middle School Madness: Middle Schoolers have a place to call their own every 3rd Saturday, 6:00-9:30 p.m. at Taylor Bend Family YMCA! We provide your middle schooler with food, fun activities and more in a safe and positive environment. If you have a child in middle school between 11 and 14 years old, encourage them to join us at our next Middle School Madness!
- Super Sitter Classes: Because you care ? prepare! Learn what you need to know and what every parent wants in a responsible babysitter. Designed for participants 11-15 years old, our Super Sitter Class will help prepare you for the responsibility and fun of babysitting! We?ll cover topics like: The Business of Babysitting, Accident Prevention, Handling Emergencies, Age Appropriate Toys & Activities, Diapering and Feeding Infants, Fire Safety, Basic First Aid Skills, and The ABC?s of CPR. (Note: First Aid and CPR are basic introductory courses and are not certification level classes). Please see our Calendar of Events for upcoming Super Sitter classes at Taylor Bend!
