YMCA AWAY Program

Always Welcome At the YMCA! Your YMCA of South Hampton Roads membership is reccognized at participating YMCAs across the country.

Visitng other YMCAs
When you join a YMCA, you become a part of a national movement of 18.1 million members in more than 2,400 YMCAs. Because each YMCA is autonomous, not-for-profit, and not a franchise, local YMCA policies vary on the use of equipment, facilities, services and programs by visiting members from out-of-town or from nearby YMCAs.

While some YMCA's have no restrictions, others may have restrictions such as these.

  • Visits by member of YMCAs within 50 miles are limited to three per month.
  • Visiting members only may use the facilities at certain hours.
  • Visiting members will be charged half the guest fee.
  • Visting Y members are restricted to a limited number of visits each year.

If you plan to visit another YMCA, it is a good idea to call that YMCA about visiting member policies.

The Peninsula and Churchland YMCAs are not affilitated with the South Hampton Roads association, which serves coastal Virginia and northeastern North Carolina.
