YMCA Activate America Family Walk

September 10, 2005

The YMCA of South Hampton Roads kicked-off the Hampton Roads Activate America program with a Family Walk at the Norfolk Botanical Gardens on September 10, 2005.  Over 400 people participated in the warm-up and walk, learned about YMCA membership and programs, visited health and fitness vendors, and enjoyed food and interactive youth activities.

The YMCA of South Hampton Roads thanks all of the Activate America Family Walk sponsors, community partners and volunteers who made this event happen and helped us get Hampton Roads active!

People of all ages came together to get active and stay healthy at the Activate America Family Walk.

Kids stayed active with the U.S. Army Recruiter’s rock climbing wall.

Many took advantage of the free health screenings available.

The real success of the day was seeing families get active together!

The Norfolk Family YMCA Hap Ki Do group demonstrated their skills.

Kicking off an active and healthy lifestyle was so much fun!
