Safe, Affordable Child Care

YMCA before and after-school child care in the Outer Banks focuses on safety, health, social growth and academic enrichment. The Y provides a safe and fun place for kids to go, so that parents can work or study. Children have options to explore and develop their interests and talents. Our flexible schedule allows each child to choose what they want to do.

Child Care Staff Qualifications:

  • CPR & First-Aid Certified
  • Completed at least 20 hours of training before working with children
    • Health & Safety
    • Supervision
    • Child Development
    • Child Abuse Prevention
    • Programming

Staff also receive over 20 hours of continuing education throughout the school year.

Transportation to the Y is provided from the following schools:

Children from other schools can also sign up for care, however, parents will need to arrange transportation from school to the Y.
