Annual Giving Campaign | Blocker Norfolk Family YMCA

Karen and Eduardo's Story

As a locally based nonprofit organization, our number one priority is to serve this community. So every tax-deductible dollar you donate directly affects all of us in the best possible way: through before- and after-school care, swim lessons, health & wellness for seniors, diabetes prevention, summer camps, teen leadership, family activities, senior social hours and, of course, scholarships that ensure our doors are always open for those most in need.

See the results. Please consider a gift to your neighborhood YMCA.

Here's How Your Gift Can Help

Help survivors gain strength

Encourage the physical and emotional well-being of adult cancer survivors through the LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA program, offered at no cost to participants.

Bridge the achievement gap

Support the academic achievement and wholistic development of school-age children through the Before- and After-School program.

Fight back against Parkinsons

Help adults with Parkinson’s disease combat their symptoms through the Rock Steady Boxing program.

Prevent summer learning loss

Provide transformative summer camp experiences for youth that encourage character development and prevent summer learning loss.

Improve Health & Wellness

Ensure adults of all income levels have access to chronic disease prevention and restorative health programs through Open Doors scholarship assistance, such as the Diabetes Prevention Program and the Transitions program.

Keep kids safe in the water

Keep our community safe around water through swim programs for outside child-care centers who otherwise would not have access to a swimming pool.

George Williams Society

Sir George Williams left a lasting impact on the world when he founded the YMCA in 1851. You can leave a lasting impact too—with a gift of $1,000 or more, you become part of the George Williams Society, helping to move our community forward in a significant way.
