WAVY Coats for Families

The cost of living is making it harder for families to provide the basics for their families. Combine that outlook with plunging temperatures, and more and more families are struggling. Each year, WAVY-TV collects new and like-new coats for all ages and sizes to donate to those that are struggling to keep warm this winter. 

The YMCA of South Hampton Roads is partnering with WAVY-TV to provide safe and caring distribution sites at all of their 21 locations. 

WHO/WHAT: In partnership with WAVY's Annual Coats for Families, the YMCA of South Hampton Roads is happy to host coat distribution events at all YMCA locations. 

WHERE: All 21 locations of the YMCA of South Hampton Roads

WHEN: December 16, 17, and 18 during normal operational hours. Hours of operation can be found on each location's page in the link above. 

WHY: Each winter, thousands of individuals struggle to stay warm in Hampton Roads. In an effort to support those in need, WAVY-TV 10 collects new and gently used coats for all ages and sizes. The YMCA has teamed with WAVY to distribute the coats. 

HOW: Stop by the Welcome Desk at any YMCA location within the South Hampton Roads association to request a coat. Distribution is open to the public.
