Youth Basketball

GENERAL HEALTH & SAFETY GUIDELINES

  • All players, coaches and staff should conduct home-based monitoring of symptoms before proceeding to the Y. Anyone showing the following symptoms will not be permitted to participate:
    • Fever (temperature of 100.4°F or higher)
    • Chills
    • Shortness of breath/difficulty breathing
    • New cough
    • New loss of taste or smell
  • Hand sanitizing stations will be available at each field/court/site. 
  • Participants and parents who are not feeling well will be required to stay home. 

STAFF HEALTH & SAFETY

  • Staff will wear masks while indoors around children. 
  • Staff are required to thoroughly wash/sanitize hands at the start of their shift and between team interactions. 

GAME SCHEDULE

  • Game start times will be staggered, and we recommend teams not to arrive more than 15 minutes prior to game time. Basketball games will start on time.

PREGAME

  • Players are encouraged to bring masks.
  • Teams will not be allowed into the gym until 15 minutes before the game begins. 

SPECTATORS

  • Youth sports spectators are strongly encouraged to wear masks when indoors and in the presence of children.
  • Hand sanitizer will be available at the entrance and exit of the facility.
Youth T-Ball

GENERAL HEALTH & SAFETY GUIDELINES

  • Hand sanitizing stations will be available at each field/court/site. 
  • Participants and parents who are not feeling well are required to stay home. 

STAFF HEALTH & SAFETY

  • Staff are required to thoroughly wash/sanitize hands at the start of their shift and between team interactions.

  • Spectators arrive five minutes before game time and exit immediately after for gym/restroom sanitizing.
  • Hand sanitizer will be available at the entrance and exit of the facility.
Youth Soccer

YMCA GUIDELINES

  • All players, coaches and staff should conduct home-based monitoring of symptoms before proceeding to the soccer field. Anyone showing the following symptoms will not be permitted to participate:
    • Fever (temperature of 100.4°F or higher)
    • Chills
    • Shortness of breath/difficulty breathing
    • New cough
    • New loss of taste or smell
  • Practice and game schedules will be staggered to eliminate congestion and crowding.
  • The Y will not provide group hydration or refreshment stations. Players and coaches should bring their own water or sports drink.
  • The Y will provide  alcohol-based hand sanitizers containing at least 60% alcohol for players, coaches and spectators
  • Spectators should be limited and must maintain minimum social distancing, as defined by the CDC.
  • Players, spectators and coaches should leave promptly after practice and games.
  • Team “huddles” during the game should observe social distancing; no handshakes, high fives, fist bumps, etc.
  • There will be no post-game handshake or team huddle.
  • If more than one team is using a field for training at the same time, training areas should be at least 20 yards apart.
  • YMCA staff and coaches should wear face coverings over nose and mouth when indoors.
  • At the end of each training session or match, players should sanitize hands.
  • Each player will keep their belongings at their "station." Stations will be set up around the bench area with at least six feet of distance between stations. 

PLAYER GUIDELINES

  • Each player should bring their own water or sports drink.
  • Players will not share water or towels
  • Coaches will disinfect that equipment after every practice.
