Youth Basketball

GENERAL HEALTH & SAFETY GUIDELINES

  • Staff & volunteers will be required to complete a health screening prior to each practice/game.
  • Hand sanitizing stations will be available at each field/court/site. 
  • Team sizes will be limited to 8 to encourage distancing
  • Participants and parents who are not feeling well will be required to stay home. 

STAFF HEALTH & SAFETY

  • Staff & volunteers will receive a daily health screening, including temperature checks. 
  • Staff & volunteers will wear masks while on duty. 
  • Staff are required to thoroughly wash/sanitize hands at the start of their shift and between team interactions. 

GAME SCHEDULE

  • Game start times will be staggered, and we recommend teams not to arrive more than 15 minutes prior to game time. Basketball games will start on time.

PREGAME

  • All persons entering the gym will be required to wear a face-covering
  • Players are encouraged to bring masks
  • Teams will not be allowed into the gym until 15 minutes before the game begins. 
  • All participants should wear proper PPE and maintain space between themselves and others. Prolonged proximity, even with masks should be avoided.

SPECTATORS

  • Spectators arrive 5 minutes before game time and exit immediately after for gym/restroom sanitizing.
  • Spectators will be limited to two (2) per participants during game allow for social distancing. 
  • Hand sanitizer will be available at the entrance and exit of the facility
Youth Soccer

YMCA GUIDELINES

  • All players, coaches and staff will be screened with temperature check before proceeding to the soccer field. Anyone with a temperature of 100.4 or more will be sent home and not allowed to participate for a minimum of 14 days.
  • Practice and game schedules will be staggered to eliminate congestion and crowding .
  • The Y will not provide group hydration or refreshment stations. Players and coaches should bring their own water or sports drink.
  • The Y will provide a place for players and coaches to wash hands with soap and water, or provide alcohol-based hand sanitizers containing at least 60% alcohol.
  • Spectators should be limited and must maintain minimum social distancing, as defined by the CDC.
  • Players, spectators and coaches should leave promptly after practice and games.
  • Team “huddles” during the game should observe social distancing; no handshakes, high fives, fist bumps, etc.
  • There will be no post-game handshake or team huddle.
  • If more than one team is using a field for training at the same time, training areas should be at least 20 yards apart.
  • YMCA staff and coaches should wear face coverings over nose and mouth .
  • At the end of each training session or match, players should sanitize hands.
  • Each player will keep their belongings at their "station". Stations will be set up around the bench area with at least six feet of distance between stations. Players will return to their station during breaks.

PLAYER GUIDELINES

  • Each player should have their own ball and equipment.
  • Each player should bring their own water or sports drink.
  • Players will not share water, towels, balls or other equipment. All balls will be disinfected by coaches after every practice.
  • Players will not touch cones or training discs. Coaches will disinfect that equipment after every practice.
