George Williams Circle | $1,250 

• Strengthens our safety around water programming by providing access to swim lessons

Anthony Bowen Circle | $1,000 

• Deepens our reach by providing teens with free summer membership to give them a sense of place and purpose

Annual giving donations are acknowledged as unrestricted. The YMCA of South Hampton Roads uses unrestricted gifts to fund the core programs and services needed most by the communities we serve. 

Avoid capital gains tax by making a gift of stock to the Y!

Please forward any information regarding a pending stock transfer to Michele Catalano, Chief Development Officer, at (757) 275-9433 or mcatalano@ymcashr.org.

The donor's name is not transferred with the stock information. Providing us with information relating to the transfer will ensure stock gifts are appropriately attributed to the donor.

Gifts of securities will be valued at full market value on the date of the transfer to the Y. 

Your gift could be doubled or even tripled with a matching gift from your employer.

A tax-saving way to help the Y!

FOR THOSE 70½ YEARS OLD AND OLDER
You can give any amount (up to a maximum of $100,000) per year from your IRA directly to a qualified charity, such as the YMCA of South Hampton Roads, without having to pay income taxes on the money. Gifts of any value which are $100,000 or less are eligible for this benefit. You can feel good knowing that you are making a difference at the Y. This popular gift option is commonly called the IRA charitable rollover, but you may also see it referred to as a qualified charitable distribution, or QCD for short.

CAPITAL PROJECTS IN PROGRESS

NORTHAMPTON COUNTY YMCA GYMNASIUM

With this community asset, kids and adults have a safe environment to shoot hoops or play indoor soccer and other games, community groups can host events, and summer campers can enjoy activities and seasonal fun.

Endowment gifts generate long-lasting support and ensure a stronger future for the YMCA of South Hampton Roads.

THE HERITAGE SOCIETY

Membership in the Heritage Society is open to those who wish to join the tradition of creating a lasting legacy. These gifts can be made in a will or trust or by making the YMCA of South Hampton Roads a retirement plan or insurance policy beneficiary. The Heritage Society is our way of recognizing a remarkable contribution to the Y that will continue to have a lasting impact for generations.
