With lap lanes, open swim times, water exercise classes, swim lessons, swim teams, water slides and playgrounds, the YMCA is well equipped to provide an enjoyable outlet of aquatic fun and fitness for the entire family. Our highly trained aquatic associates are nationally certified, holding certifications in CPR, AED, O2 Administration and Lifeguarding.

Aqua Jog
Days: Tues
Time: 8:15 am - 9:00 am
  Condition the upper and lower body in a deep water aerobic workout. Increase cardio, strength and endurance in deep water while wearing a flotation belt.
Gentle Progressive Aquatics
Days: Tues, Thurs
Time: 4:30 pm - 5:15 pm
  Class based on the principles of the Arthritis Foundation. Uses the water to improve joint flexibility and muscle strength. Held in the heated therapeutic pool.
Lifeguard Certification Course
Days: Weekdays
Time: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Dates: 4/5/10-4/9/10
  This course is designed to teach ages 16 and older physical skills and knowledge to be a lifeguard. Successful completion of this course certifies one in CPR/AED, First Aid, Oxygen Administration and YMCA Lifeguard certification.

Master Swim
Days: Tues, Thurs
Time: 6:00 am - 7:00 am
  Master Swim is a swim team for swimmers ages 18 and up. Sessions include a one-hour coached practice during which swimmers complete over 2000 yards, with instruction and emphasis on stroke development and improving endurance and strength.

Some members compete in the masters level USSA meets which occur several times a year in various Virginia locations.
