Kelci Novak, Health & Wellness Director
I am the Health and Wellness Director here at the Suffolk Family YMCA. After attaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology from East Carolina University, I started personal training and teaching group exercise classes in Washington, DC. I have been with the Suffolk Y for a year and am a certified personal trainer. I also work with clients in our transitions programs who have completed physical therapy but need an ongoing exercise plan to recover from surgery, injury, or any ongoing medical conditions. I get great satisfaction helping others achieve their goals and teaching them the importance of living a healthy lifestyle.
Donna Franklin, Personal Trainer
I am an ISSA certified personal trainer. I have been working at the YMCA for 6 years and personal training for 4 years. I find great joy in improving the quality of life to people of all ages. Years ago, after losing 80 pounds, a trainer talked me into weight lifting. From there I started competing in competitions. Then, I really had a desire to help others. I love my job here at the Y and getting to know some of the best people on earth. My prayer before coming to work is to be a blessing to others.
