Everyone Deserves an Adventure

Adventure Awaits! YMCA at JT’s Camp Grom

Everyone deserves the chance to experience adventure. To swim, wakeboard, and kayak. To explore nature, climb, and conquer ropes courses. To play, connect, and grow. This summer, the Y, in partnership with The Virginia Gentlemen Foundation, will open a one-of-kind, 70-acre adventure camp in Virginia Beach for wounded veterans, Gold Star Families, families of the fallen, and adults and children of differing abilities—YMCA at JT’s Camp Grom. Individuals of all abilities and their families will have the opportunity to have a life-changing camp experience in an accessible environment designed just for them.

According to the Greater Hampton Roads Community Indicator Dashboard, more than 127,000 individuals with a physical, mental, or emotional disability live in Hampton Roads. And more than 40,000 wounded veterans and their families call Hampton Roads home. Now, these brave, courageous, and inspiring men, women, and children will experience the adventure of a lifetime at YMCAat  JT’s Camp Grom.

To bring adventure to all, we need your help!

This year the Y has two very important fundraising goals for YMCA at JT’s Camp Grom:

First, we are wrapping up our $250,000 Capital Campaign. Supporting the Capital Campaign will help outfit the camp with the specialized equipment and furniture needed to create this unique adventure experience. Second, the Y has a goal to raise $160,000, through the 2018 Annual Giving Campaign to support participant scholarships and programs this summer at YMCA at JT’s Camp Grom.

Please join us in helping to create an adventure without limits.
