The Y offers a variety of strength-training classes that combine the benefits of building strength with the motivation and positive atmosphere of a group exercise class. These classes will increase your muscle endurance, enhance your cardiovascular ability and will develop coordination and balance. Most classes are 60 minutes long and offer exercise options for a variety of fitness levels, so that you can work out at your own pace.
A low-impact class holding the ball as a prop or seated performing cardio activities. Body bars, dumbbells and tubing will also be used for strength training.
Family Fitness is designed to bring families together through physical activities and games that get everyone moving and having fun together.
Gentle Cardio and Toning
In this self-paced class, we will be using resistance bands as well as light weights to introduce strength training, as well as slowly introducing a variety of cardio equipment to improve coordination and cardiovascular endurance.
The format will be determined by the instructor and may change for each class session.
Orientation to Group Exercise
Let us teach you the basics of participating in Group Exercise classes; what to wear, how to monitor your heart rate and come dressed ready to sample several types of class options.

Using an adjustable barbell, weight plates and body weight, Power® combines squats, lunges, presses, and curls with functional integrated exercises. A muscle conditioning for the entire body with repetitions set to music using plate-loaded bars. Dumb bells, bands and body bars may also be incorporated. Must have a qualified Power Cut Instructor to teach.
A high intensity full-body strength and conditioning program to improve agility, stability, stamina, speed and coordination through a verity of challenging workouts. Functional and safe exercises using medicine balls, barbells, kettlebells and other resistance equipment along with cardio/plyometric movements may be performed.
This class is a total body conditioning class that enhances balance, strength and improves range of motion using a stability ball. Free weights and other equipment may be used.
