Feeling Great Never Gets Old.

As Virginia’s population ages, researchers project that by 2030, one in five residents will be above the age of 65. As this group of maturing Virginians approaches more than half of the state’s total population growth, support for a healthy aging lifestyle is becoming an increasing need—good nutrition, physical activity, and social interaction, all for a better us.

As the leading voice on improving overall health, the Y accepts the responsibility to find ways to serve our aging population, not only for individual health and well-being but for overall community health. The YMCA of South Hampton Roads encourages all adults 50 years and older to develop behaviors that are crucial to healthy aging, including healthy eating, physical activity, and social interaction.
