Campfire Across America

On July 22, 2026, YMCA of South Hampton Roads locations will join Ys across the country for Campfire Across America, a one-night gathering centered on connection, reflection, and belonging. For generations, campfires have brought people together and served as places where stories are shared, relationships are built, and everyone has a seat. 

At the Y, creating moments of connection has always been at the heart of what we do. Campfire Across America brings that tradition into the spotlight by uniting Ys nationwide in a shared experience. While some events may host real campfires and others host a campfire in spirit, each location's meaning is the same as campfires across the country—bringing people together with intention. 

We’ll also celebrate with a few special offers on some favorite ways for our community to connect at the Y: $0 joining fee for those ready to become members, 50% off enrollment fee for summer camp and before & after-school care, and 2 free bonus personal training sessions with a package purchase of 12 sessions.

Through songs, stories, and simple moments of presence, we’re creating memories that reach far beyond one evening. This matters not just locally, but nationally. With Ys in all 50 states participating, Campfire Across America shows what’s possible when communities come together; not just through words, but through action.
