School Year Hours

As summer winds down and routines shift, it’s time for the Y to transition back to our school year operations.

We want to highlight a few important changes that will take effect starting September 8th:

  • Interactive Zone: Daytime hours will wind down during the week as our young people head back to school
  • Stay & Play: Check your location for fall drop-in care hours
  • The Following Locations Will Be Closed on Sundays:
    • Currituck Family YMCA (24-hour access offered)
    • Effingham Street Family YMCA
    • Indian River Family YMCA (24-hour access offered)
    • Northampton County YMCA (24-hour access offered)
    • YMCA at Edinburgh (24-hour access offered)
  • Other Hours Changes
    • Effingham Street Family YMCA will close at 12pm on Saturdays
    • James L. Camp Jr. Family YMCA will close at 4pm on Saturdays
    • Northampton County YMCA will have self check-in weekdays from 11am–4pm and will close at 12pm on Saturdays. Learn more about Self-Check In hours.
    • YMCA on Granby will close at 3pm on Saturdays
  • Outdoor Pool Season Ends: Most of our outdoor pools will close for the season September 8, after Labor Day. The outdoor pools at the Great Bridge/Hickory Family YMCA and Princess Anne Family YMCA will remain open for lap swimming.
  • First Tee—Hampton Roads: Beginning September 18, the hours will adjust to 8am–6:30pm
