Fore the Cause: YMCA’s 33rd Annual Charity Golf Classic
A cold, windy morning gave way to warmth and sunshine as 31 teams gathered at Elizabeth Manor Golf & Country Club for the YMCA of South Hampton Roads’ 33rd Annual Charity Golf Classic.
Against the backdrop of Elizabeth Manor's scenic waterfront course, participants raised over $96,000 and opened doors for more people to have access to the Y. Thanks to all of your generosity, more kids will reach their potential, neighbors will develop healthier habits, and families and individuals will have a place where they can thrive regardless of their ability to pay.
The competition was fierce, but remained friendly, and everyone shared one common goal: ensuring that the YMCA of South Hampton Roads continues to provide scholarships and financial assistance so every person, regardless of age, income, or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive at the Y.
"The YMCA is only as strong as the community behind it, and this tournament is a great example of that," said Anthony Walters, president and CEO of the YMCA of South Hampton Roads. "Yes, we had fun on the golf course, but at its core, this was about making sure more children can attend camp, more families can find support, and more people have access to the programs and opportunities that help them thrive. We're grateful to everyone who made that possible."
From our sponsors and players to our volunteers and the wonderful staff of Elizabeth Manor Golf & Country Club, thank you for your contribution to this year’s tournament. Your generosity and support will make a lasting impact throughout our community.
We look forward to seeing you again next year for more golf, generosity, and good times on Friday, May 14, 2027.
