Big things are happening across our YMCAs this month! To help you get the most out of every workout, we’re installing brand-new elliptical machines, and at some locations, we’re adding new strength equipment too.
These updates are part of our ongoing commitment to keep your Y experience fresh, safe, and motivating. While equipment is being delivered and installed, some fitness areas may be temporarily unavailable. We’ll do our best to minimize disruption, and we can’t wait for you to try out the new gear once it’s ready! You can scroll down to learn more about what’s coming.

Tuesday, November 11, 2025
- James L. Camp Jr. Family YMCA: Cardio equipment will be unavailable from 10am–3pm.
- YMCA of South Boston/Halifax County: Cardio equipment will be unavailable from 10am–3pm.
Wednesday, November 12, 2025
- Greenbrier Family YMCA: Cardio equipment will be unavailable from 10am–3pm.
- YMCA at Edinburgh: Cardio equipment will be unavailable from 10am–1pm.
- Greenbrier North YMCA: Cardio equipment will be unavailable from 2–4pm.
Thursday, November 13, 2025
- Blocker Norfolk Family YMCA: The Y will close at 11am for the remainder of the day.
Friday, November 14, 2025
- Effingham Street Family YMCA: Cardio equipment will be unavailable from 10am–1pm.
- Indian River Family YMCA: Cardio equipment will be unavailable from 10am–1pm.
- Hilltop Family YMCA: Cardio equipment will be unavailable from 2–4pm.
- Northampton County YMCA: Cardio equipment will be unavailable from 2–4pm.
Saturday, November 15, 2025
- Suffolk Family YMCA: Cardio equipment will be unavailable from 10am–6pm.
Monday–Tuesday, November 17–18, 2025
- Taylor Bend Family YMCA: The Y will close at 8am on November 17 and remain closed through the end of November 18 while new cardio and strength equipment is installed. 24-hour access will not be available while the Y is closed. The free weight center on the 1st floor will remain closed through 12pm on Wednesday, November 19. Learn more

- YMCA on Granby: The Y will be closed from 10am–4pm while cardio and strength equipment is installed. 24-hour access will not be available while the Y is closed.
Friday, November 21, 2025
- Princess Anne Family YMCA: Cardio equipment will be unavailable from 10am–3pm.
- Eastern Shore Family YMCA: Cardio equipment will be unavailable from 10am–3pm.

Why isn't my YMCA listed?
We’re working on finalizing installation dates for the Albemarle Family YMCA and Currituck Family YMCA. The Great Bridge/Hickory Family YMCA, Mt. Trashmore Family YMCA, Outer Banks Family YMCA and YMCA of Portsmouth were upgraded recently, and are not part of this equipment upgrade cycle.
