GREENBRIER FAMILY YMCA: THE NEXT CHAPTER
GREENBRIER FAMILY YMCA
A PLACE WITH PURPOSE IN THE HEART OF CHESAPEAKE
A VISION FOR THE FUTURE
As part of our Together We Rise Comprehensive Campaign we are launching a bold capital campaign. The reimagined Y will be more than a building. It will be a vibrant, inclusive space that brings people together, strengthens families, and elevates quality of life across Chesapeake.
Our vision includes:
- 25,000+ square foot expansion and modern renovation
- New Early Learning Center
- Over 200 new child care slots in early learning and summer camp programs
- Enhanced indoor recreation and fitness spaces
- Dedicated spaces for youth and teens
- Preventative Health and Recovery Zone
- Flexible gymnasium and multi-use areas
WHY IT MATTERS
The Greenbrier area supports a daily workforce of nearly 50,000 people, and its population has grown by more than 325% in just one decade. This rapid growth has placed significant strain on community resources—especially in the areas of child care, wellness, and gathering spaces.
An expanded and modernized Greenbrier Family YMCA will directly address these challenges.
With your investment:
- Families will gain access to safe, enriching child care
- Parents will be able to work with confidence and peace of mind
- Children will build the skills and support systems they need to succeed
- Community members will have greater access to health, wellness, and connection
OUR CAMPAIGN GOALS
To bring this vision to life, we have set bold but necessary goals:
- A $13 million investment to transform and expand the facility
- Significantly expand child care capacity to support families and the local workforce
- Create greater access to health, wellness, and community connection for people of all ages
JOIN US
Your support will ensure that the Greenbrier Family YMCA continues to serve as a vital, welcoming community hub for generations to come. This is more than a capital project—it is an investment in the future of Chesapeake.
Together, let’s build a stronger, healthier, more connected community.
