Highlights | Annual Report 2025

In 2025, the Y welcomed 250,491 friends and neighbors to its 27 locations in
Hampton Roads, western Tidewater, northeast North Carolina, Halifax County, and on the
Eastern Shore through membership, sports, family experience, youth development, wellness,
and aquatics programs.
Special to the Y’s mission to serve all, 1 in 5 households participating in membership and
program services at the Y received scholarship assistance through the Y’s Open Doors program
— an income-based approach to reduce fees for services to remain accessible for all, regardless
of ability to pay. Last year, the Y distributed $5.6 million through the Open Doors program to help
10,985 households match their ability to pay with our youth, family, social, and wellness services.
Behind every number is an individual who felt belonging and support at the Y. Thanks to you, the
Y remains a relevant part of our community and your partnership ensures the Y is for ALL OF US.

*Using World Health Organization guidelines, we looked at how many YMCA members stay active at
recommended levels. Regular physical activity is proven to lower the risk of heart disease and diabetes.
Based on this research, YMCA members’ commitment to healthy living is estimated to prevent approximately
