Hope Sinclair | Annual Report 2020

Hope Sinclair, Effingham Street Family YMCA

Hope Sinclair, 2020 Recipient of the YMCA Volunteer Service Award for the YMCA of South Hampton Roads

Dr. Hope Sinclair, one of the busiest women in the City of Portsmouth, always finds the time to volunteer for every Effingham event without hesitation for over three years. With her leadership role at the Portsmouth Service League, Dr. Sinclair recruited volunteers to sponsor 20 youth and teens for the Annual Giving Tree, granting Portsmouth children their holiday wishes.

Hope R. Sinclair, Ph.D. is the Executive Director of Communities In Schools of Hampton Roads (CISofHR). With a professional background in Psychology, Dr. Sinclair began working extensively with nonprofit organizations in 2005. Inside and outside of CISofHR, she is working to bridge the gap between what our youth need and what our youth are expected to achieve. Since the very beginning, Dr. Sinclair’s vision for her work has been to empower the community to get involved, get engaged and get connected to help fuel a stronger community. Dr. Sinclair serves on the board of directors for the Effingham Street Family YMCA, Portsmouth Partnership, Portsmouth Service League, Volunteer Hampton Roads, Starbase Victory, Town Point Club’s Young Executives, and Lefcoe Alumni Association, and is an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
