Kimberly Twine, Currituck Family YMCA

Kimberly Twine, 2020 Recipient of the YMCA Volunteer Service Award for the YMCA of South Hampton Roads

Kim is the owner of Pink Ribbon Resource Center, a newly established non-profit organization in Currituck County, NC. Pink Ribbon Resource Center is dedicated to serving breast cancer patients from the time of their diagnosis and beyond through education, products, and support. Kim joined the Currituck Family YMCA board in early 2020 and has been one of the consistent volunteers. She promotes our mission and services, collaborates on YMCA events, has served as a representative of the Currituck Family YMCA with other community partners and in our Annual Giving Campaign, and has recently shared ideas that contribute to enhanced community engagement for our YMCA. Any time there is an opportunity for promotion or engagement, Kim is contacting me with the details and has offered to help in anyway she can to gain traction and attention for our YMCA. With our YMCA being one of the centers to offer the Livestrong at the YMCA program, she has committed to referring participants to us and actively goes the extra mile to ensure community members are well informed about our mission and what we do to serve our community.
