Better Today Than Yesterday

After a routine visit to her doctor revealed that she was prediabetic with hypertension, Sheila realized that she needed to make a lifestyle change. She enrolled in the Y’s Diabetes Prevention program and learned how to take control of her health by making small changes that added up. After 16 weeks, Sheila exceeded the program’s weight loss goal and achieved a normal blood pressure. Exercise and proper nutrition are now a part of Sheila’s everyday routine, as well as getting down on the floor to play with her new grandson.
