#GivingTuesday is day for giving
Forget about Black Friday and Cyber Monday. At the Y, we're officially kicking off the holiday season on November 29, 2016 by participating in #GivingTuesday, a global day dedicated to giving.
WHAT IS #GIVINGTUESDAY?
#GivingTuesday is a day dedicated to giving back. Coinciding with the Thanksgiving Holiday and the kickoff of the holiday shopping season, #GivingTuesday’s goal is to inspire personal philanthropy, volunteerism, and encourage giving during the holiday season. Taking place November 29—the Tuesday after Thanksgiving—#GivingTuesday will show that the world truly gives as good as it gets.
Your financial commitment to the YMCA makes a lasting impact in the community of your choice. One-time gifts, online giving or long-term pledges are all options. Whether you want to help a child go to YMCA Summer Day Camp, help bridge the education gap by supporting Power Scholars Academy or fund a cancer survivor's participation in LiveSTRONG AT THE YMCA or an adult's enrollment in our YMCA Diabetes Prevention Program, you can find a way to support it by giving to the YMCA's Annual Campaign.
#GivingTuesday is more than a day in November. Start using the hashtag #GivingTuesday on your social media accounts. Tell your friends and family why you give to the YMCA of the South Hampton Roads this giving season!
