JT's Camp Grom groundbreaking ceremony

On April 17, 2015 at 4pm JT's Camp Grom had it's official groundbreaking ceremony. Developer Bruce Thompson shared his vision of the one-of-a-kind adventure camp for wounded warriors, families of the fallen and children with disabilities on the 70-acre site off Birdneck Road in Virginia Beach. The YMCA of South Hampton Roads will operate the camp. A group of young men called The Virginia Gentlemen Foundation raised the $20 million dollars to build the facility. When construction is complete, it will be a unique adventure camp with rope courses, lakeside trails, fitness activities and much more.
