Med Student Discovers Secret to Health: Fun!

29 December 2014

At only 25 years old, Sahil was overweight, tired and lacking motivation due to his intense schedule as a medical student. But after learning that he was at high risk for developing diabetes, he knew he had to do something. So he decided to join the Y.

As an EVMS student, he was able to join at a discounted group rate, and has successfully added cardio and strength activity into his busy schedule. He says the Y’s state-of-the-art equipment brought him here, but it was the friends he made and the activities they shared that really improved the state of his health. What started off as a two- or three-day committment to improve his health quickly turned into visits to the Y five and six days a week.

When Sahil joined the Y, he didn’t just join a club. He became a part of a community that supports health and wellness.
