Capital gifts increase our capacity to serve our community with programs and services for families, children and adults of all ages. The following projects have been identified by the Board of Directors as priorities that will help achieve the mission of the Y and the goals of our Strategic Plan. Support from individuals, corporations and foundations throughout communities in Coastal Virginia and Northeastern North Carolina will make these projects a reality.
For more information on how you can help, contact the development office of the YMCA of South Hampton Roads at 757-962-5519.
Capital Projects In Progress
JT's Camp Grom
JT’s Camp Grom isn’t just any camp. It’s a 70-acre retreat developed especially for wounded warriors and their families, the families of fallen war heroes—Gold Star Families and children and adults with disabilities or special needs. It will be a special place where everyone in the family, including those with special needs, can spend time and participate together!
Northampton County YMCA
Concern of insufficient youth programs, support for aging adults, swim safety, and healthy living access drove local partners, donors and the Y to collaborate in making these critical programs a reality through a newly constructed YMCA in Northampton County.

FUNDRAISE FOR THE Y
Every year, volunteers help the Y raise over $2 million to help make sure that the Y is open to everyone in our communities, regardless of their ability to pay. Make a difference in your community by becoming a YMCA fundraiser.
