This year, the Y has celebrated heroes from every YMCA location throughout South Hampton Roads whose lives have been changed by the Y. Firefighter Andy lost more than 100 pounds at the Y, while Jenn created a healthier lifestyle for herself and her family. Christian and Alexis developed strong character values through Y youth development programs. Former pro boxer Nick fought the symptoms of his Parkinson’s disease at the Y, while Doretta created healthy habits to prevent diabetes. Older adult members Beve, Betty and Paulette found health and community at the Y through specialized wellness and social activities. From Gerry who discovered the game of golf at The First Tee to Joshua who had a life-changing summer at Camp Silver Beach, the Y impacted thousands of children and families this year.

This Christmas season, we encourage you to reflect on how the Y changed your life this year, and give to the Y to further our impact on the lives of others. Your tax-deductible contribution made by December 31 encourages families to live healthier, provides a safe place for children after-school, teaches youth life-saving water safety skills, and ensures people of all income levels have access to the Y and its programs. Thank you for supporting our vision to create a vibrant and healthy community for all.
