YMCA Camp Silver Beach has modified its COVID-19 protocol for the 2022 season based on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the American Camp Association. We look forward to a fun, enriching summer with your camper!
- Each cabin and its building neighbor will be considered a family or cohort (approximately 20 children).
- Alterations to our daily camp schedule have been made to allow for campers to stay with their cohort.
- Face masks may be worn at the discretion of the individual and guidance on when to wear a mask can be found on the CDC website.
- We will continue with multiple meal times to allow for ample space in the dining hall and distancing between cohorts.
- The dining hall will be cleaned and sanitized between each meal period.
- Campers will receive frequent encouragement to wash or sanitize hands at activity areas.
- Campers will be required to have a negative COVID-19 test administered 1-3 days before arriving.
- Campers and staff will self screen daily and report any COVID-19 symptoms immediately to a counselor or supervisor.
- Frequent cleaning of high touch areas, bathrooms, shared equipment, shared spaces, and cottages.
- Anyone exhibiting signs of COVID-19 will be isolated and tested. Should a fever be present, campers will be isolated and parents/guardians will be called for pick-up.
- Check-in will be entirely drive-thru to limit traffic in camp buildings/property. For check-out, parents/guardians are encouraged to come to the closing ceremony to celebrate with their camper(s).
