The YMCA of South Hampton Roads relies on the generosity of our community to ensure people of all ages, incomes and backgrounds have access to the essentials they need to learn, grow and thrive. We believe that transformational change occurs when we work together and invest in our community.

As part of the Y’s commitment to create access for all, we provide financial assistance, called Open Doors, to make Y membership and programs accessible to everyone. The Y provides more than $5.1 million in assistance annually to more than 38,000 people.
