Outdoor Adventure Camp: First Camp

 First Camp provides an introductory experience for our new-to-camp kiddos ages 5–6. First campers learn about friendship, responsibility, and caring and follow a structured schedule filled with age-appropriate activities and travel as a family group with their counselors to and from all activities.

Pathfinder Camp is for campers who want to develop and strengthen friendships, challenge themselves and grow in their strengths. Guided by counselors, pathfinders are the budding leaders of camp, and help cultivate new traditions, bringing the thunder to camp assemblies!

Trailblazer Camp is a leadership development camp for ages 13–14. Trailblazers enjoy favorite camp activities and team building challenges. They also have the opportunity to shadow camp counselors, learn facilitation skills and participate in service projects.

Outdoor Adventure Camp: Counselor Internship Program

Participants develop and practice the leadership skills they need to become a camp counselor. Counselors in Training (CITs) are provided first-hand experience working with campers, learning and practicing leadership skills. CITs are selected through an application and interview process. Training and a four-week commitment are required if selected.

The Counselor Internship Program is available at YMCA Camp Red Feather, located on the campus of Virginia Wesleyan University and the YMCA at JT's Camp Grom in Virginia Beach.

Outdoor Adventure Camp: Adaptive Camp

Adaptive Camp at the YMCA at JT's Camp Grom in Virginia Beach is designed for campers ages 5 to 12 whose physical, social and emotional abilities require additional assistance when participating in camp activities. Adaptive camp is staffed with a 1:3 counselor to camper ratio. Prior to camp, we will meet with parents to plan a fun summer camp experience tailored to each camper’s needs and abilities.

Golf Camp: Half Day

Golf Camp takes place at First Tee—Hampton Roads, located off Princess Anne Road in Virginia Beach, near Virginia Beach National.

In half-day camp for ages 5–7, campers will learn golf and valuable life skills, have fun through creative games and make new friends. Camp fees include equipment, golf and life lessons from certified coaches, and organized play. 

Morning Camp Hours: 7:30am–12pm
A typical day:
7:30am–9am: Free play
9am–12pm: Golf camp activities

First Tee—Hampton Roads offers a one-week golf camp at Eagle Creek Golf Club and Grill for select weeks of summer.

In golf camp for ages 8–12, campers will learn golf and valuable life skills, have fun through creative games and make new friends. Camp fees include equipment, golf and life lessons from certified coaches, and organized play.

Overnight Camp at YMCA Camp Silver Beach

Located on the Eastern Shore of Virginia, YMCA Camp Silver Beach is an overnight summer camp for ages 8 to 16, set on 151 amazing acres filled with forests, trees and wetlands and surrounded by the beautiful Chesapeake Bay.  

One-week and two-week sessions are available.
